Any student has a right to appeal a decision of IDC Technologies or of any member of the Institute’s staff. Appeals involving academic matters (e.g. assessments, teaching methods and standards) must be made to the Dean in the first instance. Appeals relating to administrative matters, or the conduct of staff, must be made to the CEO in the first instance.

The process, described below, sets out the escalation process should the appeal not be considered resolved by this first approach and the student is not satisfied with the decision of the CEO or of the Dean. It is the responsibility of the CEO or the Dean to escalate the appeal as required.

There are no costs associated with making an appeal and escalating it within the IDC. If an appeal is escalated outside the Institute then this may incur costs for the student.

NOTE: In place of the magistrates Court the grievance will go to the ombudsman.

IDC Technologies  may, or may not, agree to independent mediation through the Citizens Advice Bureau and may, or may not, agree to accept the outcome of this mediation.

The options available for appeal will depend on the nature of the grievance.
